Ms. Ramya, 24-year young girl with Speech & Hearing challenged candidate hails from an economically indigent family from Muneshwara Block in Bengaluru South, Karnataka. Her family consists of 3 members and her father is passed away due to health condition. She lives with her younger sister. Her mother works at private skin clinic as helper on which they depending for their livelihood. The income earned from the daily wages was insufficient for them to meet the financial requirements of the family. Therefore, she had to stop her studies and assist her parents to get suitable employment after completing her diploma.

As this point of time she heard about Skilling program at National Association for the Blind in Karnataka. Hoping to get trained with some job attracting knowledge and skills she enrolled herself for the training. At NAB-K, she has joined skills training an Food & Beverage Service Assistant, which was offered from Diageo India CSR project and SCPwD and tot trained in a professional way to work at hotels

After the completion of the class room and on job training with support of SCPwD & NAB-K. She attended the interview at Royal Orchid Hotel Ltd and got placed as a Food and Beverage Service Assistant with the salary of INR 17,000/- per month. With the income she is able to support her parents in running the family. He is grateful to SCPwD, Diageo India & NAB for intervening in her life in becoming productive and supportive.
